Fresco – First release
Overview
Fresco will follow an iterative approach, evolving dynamically over time along with other products and services in the University’s new digital delivery model. This approach enables us to deliver digital solutions faster and in a more responsive way. For Fresco, this means we will be able to focus better on the needs of the platform's end-users.
Updates to Fresco will be released by the team every two weeks, with details of each outlined on the Release Notes page.
First major release
On 23 June, Fresco will become available for the first time to a small number of pioneer sites that the team has been actively collaborating with.
In this first major release, an initial set of components will become available offering a core grounding of platform functionality, which will be enhanced and expanded over time. Users will be able to set up the main elements of a website and create and publish essential content types (article, event, people, page, location) using design agency supplied University website look-and-feel.
The release will be accompanied by an auto-migration tool developed and extensively tested by the team which enables pioneers to migrate their sites from Mosaic to Fresco smoothly and comprehensively.
Early support
Pioneer sites in the first Fresco release will be supported by a beta service from the CMS and Web Platform team, along with published help documentation and the ability to raise support queries. There is also a dedicated migration team who are developing a migration toolkit and providing hands on assistance for pre- and post- migration activities.
